She was born June 3, 1924, and was aged 7 years, 7 months and 27 days. She was a beautiful and unusually well developed child, both mentally and physically, for one of her age. She was a good singer and gave promise of becoming a vocalist of extraordinary ability. She was in the best of health until stricken by a mysterious malady which baffled the skill of the physicians of Meyersdale and Cumberland. She was patient and uncomplaining throughout her illness, and had all the care that kind parents and the best of physicians and nurses could give her. Her untimely demise is mourned not only by her devoted parents and other relatives, but by the entire community in which she was a general favorite. The funeral took place at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin H. Fike, which is also the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peck, in Summit Mills, at 2:30 p.m., Monday, Rev. W. E. Ronk, of the Brethren Church of Meyersdale and Summit Mills, and Rev. G. L. Detweiler, of the Church of the Brethren, Meyersdale, officiated. Rev. Detweiler sang two solos. The pallbearers were six young girls, schoolmates of Mary Aleda - Eloise Stotler, Mary Weller, Leona Firl, Grace and Hilda Lindeman and Viola Davis. Interment in Union Cemetery, Meyersdale, directed by W. C. Price. Meyersdale Republican, February 4, 1932
