  Joseph E. Peffer, 75, 304 Allegheny St., Boswell, died unexpectedly
  May 27, 1978, at home.  Born Dec. 7, 1902, a son of William A. and
  Adeline (Fultz) Peffer.  Preceded in death by parents; wife, the
  former Elizabeth Theiler; five brothers and three sisters.  Was a
  brother of: John L., Jennerstown, Elvin M., Blairsville; and Mrs.
  Hilda Bronson, Lycippus, Pa.  Member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church,
  Boswell, Uniontown Lodge 370 BPOE, F & AM Lodge and Ancient Accepted
  Scottish Rites, Columbus, Ohio.  Was a retired sales manager for
  Montgomery Ward Co., Columbus, Ohio.  Friends received from 2 to 4 and
  7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny
  St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the
  Rev. George A. Clark officiating.  Interment, Lysippus Cemetery, near
  Pleasant Unity.
