Born Feb. 21. 1927, in Jenners, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Lewchak) Pelesky. He retired in 1989 after 27 years with Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, Md. Later, he worked at Greencastle Greens Golf Course. Member of the St. Mark's Catholic Church of Greencastle, the Greencastle VFW and American Legion posts and the Chambersburg Knights of Columbus. U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Attended Boswell High School. He and his wife were married Aug. 22, 1953. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Sara J. (Dipre) Pelesky; son, Stephen D. Pelesky, Gilbertsville; two grandsons, Timothy Pelesky and Troy Pelesky, both of Gilbertsville; sisters: Nettie Deriscabage, Warminster; Anna Snitzer, Jennerstown; Helen Covach, Jenners; Mary Simpson, Summerfield, N.C., and Evelyn Pelesky, Jenners; brothers: Joseph Pelesky and Nicholas Pelesky, both of Jenners; also nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers John Pelesky and Michael Pelesky and a sister, Irene Pelesky. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from the St. Mark's Catholic Church, 385 S. Ridge Ave., Greencastle, with Rev. Joseph L. Stahura officiating. Burial in Somerset County Memorial Park, Somerset, at 3 p.m. Thursday with Msgr. Samuel J. Tomaselli officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, where the Greencastle VFW will hold a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. and the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to American Cancer Society, Franklin County Chapter, 452 E.
