"Ned" Pell III M.D. 61, Somerset, died Aug. 19, 2000, at Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 3, 1939, in Wheeling, W.Va., a son of the late Edward Norval Pell II, and Louise (Sutcliffe) Pell. Survived by his wife, the former Marian L. "Mary" Choinsky, to whom he was married 34 years; and a sister. Mary Ann "Polly," wife of Dr. Jess Renedo of Wheeling. A 1957 graduate of Linsly Military Institute; graduated in 1961 with a B.S. from Colgate University; 1966 graduate of Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia. He did his internship and residency in general surgery at the Southern Pacific Hospital in San Francisco, Calif. He had been a physician and surgeon in Somerset since 1971. He was a board certified surgeon and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Friends received from 24 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli officiating.
