Born April 21, 1904, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, son of John and Eve (Eppley) Penrod. Preceded in death by parents; wife, former Ada Good, who died in 1953; daughter, Helen, who died in 1984; one infant sister and one infant brother. Survived by these children; Evelyn, widow of Richard Luke, Harborcreek; Ruth Neatrour, and Cletus Jr., married to former Martha Tunstall, both of Boswell RD 1; John W., married to former Laura St. Clair, Thomas Mills; Blaine, Latrobe; and Erma Nicklow, Friedens; also 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Brother of Elsie Ling, Hollsopple RD 2; and Clayton, Boswell RD 1. Lifelong member of Centennial United Methodist Church, Johnstown RD 4, near North Fork Dam. Member of USWA. Retired employee of former Johnstown Works, U.S. Steel. Friends were received from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Centennial Church, where viewing will be held from 10 am. until time of service, the Rev. George T. Gittins. Interment, Thomas Mennonite Cemetery.
