    Donald Earl Penrod, 73, Windber, went to be with the Lord Dec. 20, 2006, at Memorial
  Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Nov. 8, 1933, in Windber. Son of Floyd and Cleada
  (Moore) Penrod. Preceded in death by parents and infant brother Ronald.
  Survived by wife of 53 years the former Beverly Jean Custer, whom he married July 11,
  1953; and sons, Bruce, married to the former Debra Shaffer; Richard, married to the
  former Bonnie Thomas; and Ronald Penrod, all of Windber; grandchildren, Benjamin, Timothy
  and Heather; brother of Kenneth, married to the former Phyllis Yoder, Johnstown; and
  Thomas, married to the former Beverly Rounsley, Windber. Also numerous nieces and nephews
  and grand-nieces and grandnephews. Retired from Galliker Dairy 11 years ago, where he
  worked for 33 years. Attended Emmanuel Baptist Church, Richland Township, where he served
  on the visitation committee with Gary L. Weaver, where they visited the sick and shut-ins.
  Don also attended Pine Grove United Methodist Church, Fishertown, in the summer when he
  was at their cottage in Bedford County. He will be greatly missed by his friends and
  relatives. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Meek and
  Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber. Visitation also from 10:30 until time of service
  at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. David Streets officiating.
  Interment Berkey Cemetery, Windber. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to
  Heifer Project International, 55 Heifer Road, Perryville, AR 72123 in memory of Don.
