Perigo, 81, Stoystown, died Oct. 11, 2004, at Windber Hospice. Born July 11, 1923, in Cambria County, son of Angelo and Sebastina (Calderone) Perigo. Preceded in death by parents; an infant daughter; sister, Josephine Donia and brothers: Domonic, Joseph, John and Artillo Perigo. Survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Nora Mull; sons: Carmen A., married to the former Carol Walker, and Dennis, married to the former Rose Kubas; grandchildren: Carmen married, to the former Stephanie Painton; Craig, married to the former Melissa Shaffer, Mandy, Kevin and Ashley Perigo; great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Tiffany, Brittany and Brett Perigo; and a sister Katie Vish, Berlin. Graduate of Jenner Boswell Joint High School. World War II Army veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart. Retired from Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville, Windber V.F.W. Post 4795, Somerset F.O.E. Aerie 1801. Life member of Robert P. Hite Post 257 American Legion, Stoystown, and founding member of Penn Western Racing Association. He enjoyed his grandchildren, racing and the outdoors. Family will receive friends from noon to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 6:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville. The Rev. Monsignor Harold N. Biller officiating. Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown. Graveside military rites by Somerset County Honor Guard.
