George R. Petenbrink Sr., 75, formerly of Frostburg, MD, died Monday, March 12, 1990, at Martinsburg VA Hospital. Born Aug. 19, 1914 in Mount Savage, MD, he was a son of the late Harry and Catherine (Michaels) Petenbrink. He worked at the Celanese and as a security guard at Frostburg State University. He was a member of the Mount Savage VFW. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his widow, Anna Teresa (Richardson) Petenbrink; five sons: G. Robert Petenbrink Jr., Hampsted, with whom he resided; Ronald Petenbrink, Lauren-burg, N.C.; Paul E. Petenbrink, Sykesville; James Petenbrink, College Park; and William Petenbrink, Middlesburg, Fla.; three daughters: Mrs. Shirley Shannon, Altoona; Mrs. Sandra Miller, Meyersdale; and Mrs. Emma Thompson, Greenbelt, MD; three sisters: Mrs. Bessie Pugh, Mount Savage, MD; Mrs. Margaret Ballard, Cumberland, MD; and Mrs. Catherine Lynch, Baltimore, MD; 27 grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren.
