  Genevieve Marie Peters, 72, Friedens, died June 9, 2001.  Born Jan.
  21, 1929 in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of Lee and Catherine (Tiumac)
  Strichik.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, John Samuel Peters
  who died Nov 17, 1993; granddaughter Megan Leah Peters; brothers,
  David, James and Robert Strichik; and sisters, Virginia Strichik and
  Florence Newill.  Survived by son, John L. Peters, married to the
  former Michelle Long of Friedens; grandsons John Ryan and Matthew
  David; and brother, Leonard Strichik of Prattville, Ala.  Member of
  St. Peter's Catholic Church.  A 1947 graduate of Hurst High School in
  Mt. Pleasant.  U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.  Worked with
  Jamesway from 1974-79 and then Fisher Big Wheel from 1979-1984.
  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m Tuesday at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset.  Funeral Mass will be conducted
  at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset, with
  the Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli celebrant.  Committal, Somerset
  County Memorial Park.  Contributions may be made to Somerset "In Touch"
  Hospice; 1590 N. Center Ave., Somerset, Pa., 15501.
