Peterson Dies Suddenly Dr. P. O. Peterson of Greensburg, director of the Peterson system of penmanship used in many public schools in Pennsylvania and Ohio, died suddenly Monday, Jan. 26, at the home of a daughter in Erie. He was 64. Born in Westmoreland County, he was graduated from California State Teachers College and numerous schools of penmanship. Franklin and Marshall College in 1930 awarded him the honorary degree of Doctor of Pedagogy. Surviving are the widow, four children and a sister, all of Greensburg. Funeral services were held in Greensburg Wednesday afternoon. Dr. Guy N. Hattman, County Superintendent of Schools, Prof. Charles F. Saylor, Supervising principal of Meyersdale schools, and Virgil R. Grumbling, Principal of Berlin-Brothersvalley High School were among those who attended the obsequies. Meyersdale Republican, January 30, 1941
