Born Sept. 21, 1912, in Ukraine, son of John Petryszak and Anna Petryszak Punako. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Anna (Wyszynski) Petryszak; daughter, MaryAnn Locktosh; grandson, Frank Mihelic; great-granddaughter, Jaclyn Locktosh; son-in-law, Elmer J. Locktosh; and stepbrother, Samuel Punako. Survived by children: Catherine, wife of Donald Mihelic, Johnstown and Sandra M., wife of Walter Wojcik, Cairnbrook; grandchildren: Donald J. Mihelic; Kimberly, wife of Jeff Granito; James, husband of Diane (Barbera) Locktosh; Cheryl Ann, wife of Thomas Leslie; Janice, wife of David Kantner; Lynn Ann, wife of Mark Trostle; Walter, husband of Amy (Onofrey) Wojcik; and Jason, husband of Valerie (Wiley) Wojcik; great-grandchildren: Eve Mihelic; Adam, Michael and Andrew Granito; Thomas and Matthew Leslie; Tyler Trosle; Baylee Nichole and Braydon Alexander Wojcik; stepsister, Rose Punako, Carpenters Park. Also a number of other stepsisters and stepbrothers. Member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church where he was a life time member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Axel Plant, after 37 years of service. Was also a coal miner and farmer when he lived in Ukraine. A member of the United Steel Workers of America and a charter member of Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees (SOAR). The founder and past president of the Ukrainian American Club in Woodvale and a member of the Greater Johnstown Retired Men's Club. Frank was a kind and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and Poppa to his family. He was proud of his family and his Ukranian heritage. He stressed the importance of knowing your past in order to move on to the future. An avid gardener, Frank's prize tomatoes and garlic were welcomed by all who know him. Friends received from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, Ohio Street and Highland Avenue in the Moxham section of Johnstown. Parastas will be sung at 7 p.m. Brief service at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home followed by a Requiem Liturgy at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Woodvale. The Rev. Father Andrew Krasulski, celebrant. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations will be given to St. John the Baptist Church, 606 Maple Ave., Johnstown, PA 15901, in memory of Frank.
