"Hank" Pettitt, 85, Ferrellton, died June 4, 2003, at the Patriot Manor, Somerset. Born Dec. 19, 1917, in Ridgway, son of Arthur M. and Jennie Mae (Howlett) Pettitt. Preceded in death by parents; daughter-in-law, Judy Pettitt; an infant sister; an infant brother and sister, Mae Streich. Survived by wife, former Pauline E. Kelly; children, Walter, Fairhope; Jane, wife of Fred Maule, and Alan, married to Jennifer Aust, both of Jenners; and Patricia Koval. Johnstown; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Brother of Cora Huston, New Jersey and Mabel Yonker and Arthur Pettitt, both of Florida. A longtime very active member of Mount Laurel United Church of Christ near Gray. Also a member of Johnstown Local 2635 USWA. Former Scoutmaster in Jennerstown and Jenner Crossroads. Retired employee of former Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. He also worked in several area coal mines. Air Force veteran of World War II. He observed his 63rd wedding anniversary Feb. 16, 2003. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Laurel Church, the Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Beer officiating. Interment Beam Cemetery.
