PHILLIPI Albert Russell Phillipi, 52, a former resident of Garrett County, Md., died recently in Detroit, Mich., after a brief illness. He had been employed in Detroit for a number of years by the Whitman-Barnes Company, makers of machine tools. Mr. Phillipi was a native of Ursina, Pa., but spent most of his early youth in Friendsville, Garrett County, later moving to Detroit. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gladys Mason Phillipi, a daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Allen J. Mason of Friendsville, Md.; one sister, Miss Floretta Friend, Akron, O.; two brothers, Bruce Phillipi, Damascus, Va., and Theodore Friend, Friendsville. The body was brought to the home of Mrs. Phillipi's sister, Mrs. Katharine Kendall, on Long Stretch, west of Frostburg. Meyersdale Republican, July 29, 1943
