ALBERT R. PHILLIPI

  Albert Russell Phillipi, 52, a former resident of Garrett County, Md., died 
recently in Detroit, Mich., after a brief illness.  He had been employed in 
Detroit for a number of years by the Whitman-Barnes Company, makers of machine 
tools.
  Mr. Phillipi was a native of Ursina, Pa., but spent most of his early youth in 
Friendsville, Garrett County, later moving to Detroit.
  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gladys Mason Phillipi, a daughter of the late Dr. 
and Mrs. Allen J. Mason of Friendsville, Md.; one sister, Miss Floretta Friend, 
Akron, O.; two brothers, Bruce Phillipi, Damascus, Va., and Theodore Friend, 
Friendsville.
  The body was brought to the home of Mrs. Phillipi's sister, Mrs. Katharine 
Kendall, on Long Stretch, west of Frostburg.
