Phillippi, 68, of Stoystown (Reading Mines) died Aug. 23, 2000 at Allegheny General Hospital. Born Jan. 27, 1932 in Reading Mines. Daughter of Ralph and Hazel (Weimer) Phillippi. Preceded in death by parents, step-father Jennings Shaffer, sisters Maxine Miller, Thelma Friedline and Phyllis Phillippi. Also brother Dale Phillippi, brother-in-law Wayne Miller, sister-inlaw Betty Phillippi. Survived by brother Clyde Phillippi, Somerset, sisters-in-law Gloria Miller, Somerset and Mary Ann Phillippi of Jennerstown, brother-in-law Ray Friedliene, Rockwood, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a sewing machine operator for the former Katz Pajama Factory of Somerset. A clerk at the former Howard Johnson at the turnpike in Somerset. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown. Family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 2 to 2:30 p.m. the time of service Friday in the church, Rev. Walter L. Startzel officiating. Interment, Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
