Phillippi, 87, of Scullion passed away Jan. 23, 2001 at Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 8, 1914 in Middlecreek Township. Son of the late John and Etta (Trimpey) Phillippi. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Yvonne and son John Phillippi, grandson Wayne Phillippi, great-grandson Edward Mitchell, brothers John, Harry, Charles, Rolla, and Ray Phillippi, and sisters Maude Phillippi, Gladys Baker, and Elmira Pletcher. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Elizabeth P. Phillippi and these children: Viola, married to to William Kerns, Fort Hill; Martha, married to Clair Lear of Alliquippa; Emmajean Anderson, Rockwood; Robert, married to Deborah (Stewart) Phillippi, DeRidder, La.; Wilbur, married to Gertrude "Cris" (Crissey) Phillippi, Friedens; and Betty, married to Dan Hyatt, Boswell. Also 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Scullton. He was a lifelong farmer and carpenter/stone mason. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Rev. Boyd Race officiating. Interment Scullton Cemetery.
