GERTRUDE PHILLIPPI

  Mrs. Gertrude E. Phillippi died Wednesday morning, June 1, at her home on 
Leora Avenue, Rockwood.  She was 83 years old.  She was the widow of the late 
Jacob Phillippi of Upper Turkeyfoot Township and is survived by two daughters, 
Mrs. S. A. Johnson of Upper Turkeyfoot Township and Miss Ruth Phillippi of 
Rockwood.
  She leaves four step-children, nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great-
grandchildren.  One son, Lawrence Phillippi, preceded her in death 26 years ago.
  Funeral services were held Friday in the Rockwood Lutheran Church and were 
conducted by the Rev. Hillis G. Berkey.  Burial was at the Kingwood Cemetery.
