Phillippi, 68, of Rockwood, died April 2, 1988 in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Feb. 26, 1920 in Rockwood, a son of the late Herbert P. and Maude (Moore) Phillippi. Survived by his wife, Edna Mae (Schrader) Phillippi, Rockwood. Also survivied by one son, Dr. James P., of Johnson, Vt.; two daughters: Mrs. David (Sandra) Kusch, Rockood; and Mrs. Ray (Sharon) Carpenter, Rockwood; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His death terminates a marriage union of 49 years. He was a graduate of Rockwood High School, class of 1937, a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, an active life member of the Rockwood Volunteer Fire Department and a current member of the Rockwood Borough Council. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Rockwood and was a member of Masonic Lodge 358 F.& A.M., 32nd degree Mason, Harrisburg Consistery, Jaffa Temple. Also a member of the Somerset Eagles. He was a local businessman for 30 years and had served as acting postmaster of Rockwood. He was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue as a sales tax investigator. Friends were received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home Sunday evening and will be received today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the time of the service, with his pastor, the Rev. Rex Wasser officiating. Interment Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contribution in his memory to the Rockwood Volunteer Fire Company or the Christ United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J.
