Victor Phillips, 79, of 52 Meshach Frost Village, died at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Maryland on December 30, 1982, where he was admitted December 1. He was born in Frostburg, Maryland, and was a son of the late John Phillips and Emma (Merrbach) Phillips. He was a retired orderly in the operating room of Memorial Hospital; member of Zion United Church of Christ and the LOOM No. 348, Frostburg and a social member of Farrady Post 24, American Legion. He was well-known musically, having been a former member of several bands. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mildred (Miller) Phillips; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy George, Grantsville, Md.; Mrs. Irene Hady, Meyersdale; two sons, J. Robert Phillips, Keyser, W. Va.; James Phillips, Wexford; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Brode; Mrs. Janet Harriman and Mrs. Anna Stasikonis, all of Detroit and Mrs. Thelma Shriner, Monaca; one brother, Herman Phillips, Mentor, Ohio; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home where services were conducted with the Rev. Merle D. Correll officiating. Interment will be in the Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Charles Edminston, James George Jr., Charles Phillips, Ronald Hady, William Hady, and Dale Komatz.
