  PHILLIPS
  
  Floyd W. Phillips, 73, of Stoystown RD 2 (Kantner) died Feb. 9, 1995,
  at Somerset Hospital.  Born Oct. 6, 1921, in Quemahoning Township, son
  of Alfred Sr., and Marion (Shaffer) Phillips.  Preceded in death by
  parents, sisters: Dorothy, and Hazel.  Survived by wife of 46 years,
  the former Kathryn Croyle, and these daughters: Mrs. Mearl (Shirley)
  Schlosser of Davidsville, Mrs. William (Deanna) Layton of Manassas,
  Va., and Mrs. Mark (Marlene) Putman of Stoystown, grandchildren:
  Jason, and Michael Schlosser, Todd, and Jeremy Layton, and Elissa,
  Bethany, Brittany, and Jonathan Putman.  Brother of Clyde "Bud"
  married to the former Jean Bowers, and Alfred Jr. married to the
  former Mary Louise Dimanno both of Stoystown RD 3, Mrs. Charles
  (Betty) Beal of Friedens.  Retired after 32 years with U.S. Steel,
  Johnstown, WW II army veteran.  Family will receive friends from 2 to
  4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Viewing
  from 1 p.m. until time of service 2 p.m. Sunday at Kantner United
  Methodist Church, Rev. Jason L. McQueen.  Interment, Odd Fellows
  Cemetery, Stoystown.  Memorial contributions may be given to Kantner
  U.M. Church building fund.
