Phillips, 90, of Smithfield Street, Bedford, formerly of Boswell and Beaverdale died Sept. 15, 2000 at home. Born June 2, 1910 in Conemaugh Township, son of Lawrence Sr. and Dorra (Saljada) Phillips. Preceeded in death by parents, first wife Christine A. Paulich, sisters Dorothy Shuster. Catherine Phillips, Mary Williams and Anna Donz. Survived by wife, the former Jeanne (Imgrund) Ritchey: son Lawrence R., married to the former Pamela Fay. Malvern; daughter Donna Jeanne Phillips, Alexandria, Va.; grandchildren Leigh Ann Davis, Lawrence M. Phillips, Maggie Phillips; stepchildren, Theresa Christopher, Fredericktown, Ohio; Donna Smith, Sharpsburg, Md.; Edward Ritchey, Livermore, Calif.; Daniel Ritchey, Hagerstown, Md.; Mary Keenen, Alden, N.Y.; Linda Underdah, East Falmouth, Mass.; Thomas Ritchey, Orwigsburg; and Kenneth Ritchey, Everett. Also survived by 17 step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Brother of Joseph, and wife Rauline, of Hollsopple RD.; Helen Zaveski. Bay Shore, N. Y.: Lawrence Jr. and wife Sara Mae, Round Hills, Va.; and George and wife Mary, Bay Shore, N.Y. Member of Saint Thomas Catholic Church, Bedford. and the U.M.W.A. He and his wife observed their 10th wedding anniversary on Aug. 25, 2000. Retired coal miner with the former Berwind-White Coal Company. Also a self-employed contractor in Fire Island, N.Y. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for the deseased will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
