Bruce Phillips, 81, of Meyersdale, died Feb. 4, 1993, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born Oct. 16, 1911, in Meyersdale, a son of the late C.A. and Nevada (Dickson) Phillips. Survived by his widow, Hilda (Anderson) Phillips; also survived by three sons: John Bruce of Rockledge, Fla.; Joseph of Wichita, Kan.; J. Edward of La-Vale, Md.; a stepson, Edward Koch of Fredericksburg, Va.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother, William, of Yuma, Ariz. Owner of J. Bruce Phillips Farm Equipment Company. A member of the United Methodist Church. A 40-year director of the Somerset County Fair Association, where he served as advertising manager. Former member of Meyersdale Rotary Club and former Scoutmaster of Troop 142. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Leckemby Funeral Home, where service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Pastor James Fish and Pastor Ray Gnagey.
