She was born Oct. 25, 1851, in Frostburg, Md., a daughter of Thomas and Rebecca Jenkins. Her husband passed away in 1933. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Olive Phillips, of Fairmont, W.Va., who cared for her during her last years, and four sons - Milton J. of Edinboro Lake, Pa.; Howard and Charles A., Meyersdale, and Harry, Vandergrift, Pa. One son, Walter, of New Brighton, Pa., died in 1918, and one daughter, Miss Fanny, of Fairmont, W.Va., in 1940. Surviving also are a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips came to the Meyersdale community from Ursina, Pa., where he had been engaged in farming, many years ago, and lived at Shaw Mines where he was mine boss, for 18 years, after which they lived in Meyersdale for 18 more years, and moved to Fairmont, W.Va., in 1910. Mrs. Phillips was a devoted wife and mother, a kind neighbor and a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services for the aged lady were conducted by her pastor in Fairmont last Friday evening, and on Saturday her body was brought to Meyersdale, and on arrival here was taken directly to Union Cemetery for interment in the family plot. Only the immediate members of her family and a few other relatives saw her laid to rest. Meyersdale Republican, January 3, 1946
