Philson, 69, Jennerstown, died August 2, 1980, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born January 24, 1911, in Ralphton, Pa., son of Speer O. and Sarah C. (May) Philson. Preceded in death by parents; sisters Mrs. Maude Harceloroad, Mrs. Leafy Lohr, Mrs. Pauline Hammer, Mrs. Dorothea Lowry, Mrs. Mary Griffith; brother William R. Philson; and sister-in-law Rae B. Philson. Survived by widow, Mary L. (Sipe) Philson, and sisters Florence E. and Zora M. Philson, both of White Star Village, Jennerstown. Former partner in White Star Hotel, Jennerstown. With brother William and sisters Florence and Zora operated the hotel for 50 years. Member Mount Laurel United Church of Christ; Boswell Post 461, American Legion; Somerset Lodge 358, F. and A.M.; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Pittsburgh chapter; Jaffa Temple, Altoona; was a 32nd degree Mason. Veteran of World War II, served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre of war. Charter and current honorary member, Jennerstown Volunteer Fire Department. Former part-owner, Jennerstown Speedway. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Monday and 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Joseph Beer and Rev.
