O. Philson, proprietress of the White Star Hotel, Jennerstown, died in the Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, last Friday afternoon. The funeral was held at the White Star Hotel, Monday afternoon, conducted by Revs. E. H. Bonder, J. S. Shannon and C. W. Raley. Miss Philson was a graduate of the Somerset High School, and was a bright, intelligent and popular young woman who will be missed in the community where she lived. Her grandparents, with whom she had her home, some years ago resided at Coal Run, during which time her grandfather was employed at one of the mines in that vicinity. He died several years ago, and was buried in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Salisbury, where the remains of Miss Thelma were also laid to rest Monday afternoon, the 26th inst. The funeral was largely attended, and many came to Salisbury in the funeral cortege to see the last sad rites performed at her grave. The floral tributes were many, and very beautiful. Surviving Miss Philson are her mother, grandmother, and also her great- grandmother, Mrs. Marcus May of Jennerstown, and the following named aunts and uncles: William, John, Zo and Dorothy Philson, all living at the White Star Hotel; Mrs. Luther Lohr of Hooversville, Mrs. John Harclerode of Somerset, and Mrs. John Griffith of Jenners.
