Picking, 56, a member of a well-known Somerset family, died last Saturday morning at his home in Ardmore, Pa., where he had been a merchant for many years. Mr. Picking was born in Somerset, a son of the late Jacob S. and Maria (Imhoff) Picking. He was an accountant in Johnstown for a number of years before moving to Ardmore. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Braucher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Braucher of Somerset, and brother of Lt. S. Cober Braucher of the U.S. Navy, and the following named brothers and sisters - Barnet J. Picking, of Westmont, who retired recently after being a cashier for the Bethlehem Steel Company for many years; H. M. Picking, Johnstown mortician; Jay S. Picking, Somerset druggist, and Joseph Picking, Miss Florence Picking and Mrs. Marian Grove, Somerset. His remains were taken to Somerset, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Hoffman Mortuary Chapel, by Rev. J. F. Messenger. Interment will be in the Husband Cemetery.
