Born Jan. 19, 1919, in Friedens, a daughter of the late Marshall Jewell and Lizzie Grace Custer Eichelberger. Also preceded in death by husband, George DeWitt Pierce Jr., whom she married Feb. 11, 1940, and died Sept. 19, 1997; three brothers, Ernest, John and Robert Eichelberger and sister, Jane Prucell. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Michael (Patricia) Wilson, Sharpsville; two sisters, Margaret Bittner, Sipesville, and Betty Prokop, Atlanta; and two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Wilson, both of Sipesville. She attended Somerset schools. A member of First Baptist Church, Sharon, and formerly worked at Streamline Market and Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. She was retired co-owner of the former Pierce's Market which was along State Line Road, Sharon. Mickey will be remembered for her love of life. She taught her family to appreciate nature, celebrate life, work hard and "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." She was a wise and caring mother and grandmother. Friends will be received 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sample-O'Donnell Funeral Home Inc., East State St. at North Oakland Avenue, Sharon, member of Selected Independent Funeral Homes. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home's chapel. The Rev. John C. Trojack, First Baptist Church, Sharon, officiating. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
