Pile, 71, of 1326 West Dogwood Street, Rogers, Ark., died at his home Thursday evening, April 21, 1977. He was born July 21, 1905, in Coleman, Pa., the son of John W. and Catherine (Yoder) Pile. He was reared in Pennsylvania and a founder of the Pile Concrete Burial Company making his first vault at the age of 18. He moved to Lowell, Ark., in July, 1946, to establish the Pile Concrete Burial Company. He was on the Lowell City Council for many years, and was mayor from 1961-65 when he moved to Rogers. He was vice president of the Christian Crusade and a member of the Church of the Christian Crusade of Tulsa, Okla. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Miller Pile of the home; two sons: Ronald S. Pile of Lowell, and Alfred E. Pile of Somerset; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Wendle, also of Somerset. Four brothers: Homer Pile, James Pile, and Norman Pile all of Friedens; and Russell Pile of Maugensville, Md. A sister, Mrs. Besse Dash of Davidsville. Eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the Bums Funeral Home Chapel, Rogers, conducted by Dr. Billy James Hargis and the Rev. Perry Pyle with burial in the Rogers Cemetery under the direction of Burns Funeral Home in Rogers. Daily American, April 23, 1977 [P564]
