Born May 8, 1912, in Friedens, son of Ross I. and Lucy (Hensel) Pile. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Leo and Wilbert "Dutch." Survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Helen Snyder; son, E. Neil, married to the former Eunice Hottle of Friedens RD 2; grandchildren: Mrs. Kenneth (Hollie) Nelson, Eugene Neil Pile II, married to the former Sarah Gillespie, and Mrs. Leonard (Valerie) Marsh; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Chelsea and Travis Nelson, Emily and Cody Pile, Adam and Tanya Marsh. Brother of Wayne and Althea Lutz, both of Somerset; Luella Shaffer and Robert, both of Friedens RD 1, and Roy of Friedens RD 2. He was a retired part-owner of the former IXL Creamery in Friedens. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Meyersdale BPOE 1951, Somerset Aerie 1801, FOE; Johnstown TPA, Friedens Volunteer Fire Company, Tall Pines Camp and Somerset Speeders. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Rev. James R.
