All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ IRENEUS PILE Ireneus Pile, 83, former county surveyor, school teacher and Sunday school teacher, died Tuesday from burns sustained when he was destroying brush at the home of his only surviving brother, Leman Pile, in Middlecreek Township, where he had resided. It was said that the fire reached such proportions that Mr. Pile was unable to extinguish it. Clothing was burned from his back and his body blistered. Mr. Pile was a son of Josiah and Margaret (Putman) Pile, both of Middlecreek Township. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:30 from Pile's church, with the Rev. L. W. Gress officiating. There will be no viewing of the body. Mills and Mickey, Rockwood morticians, have charge of arrangements. Meyersdale Republican, May 22, 1941
