  Mary Irene Pile, 75, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Somerset, died
  Aug. 8, 1978, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix, Ariz.  She was
  born Jan. 22, 1903, in Jenners Township, a daughter of James and Emma
  (Schmucker) Shaffer.  She is survived by her husband, Wayne W.; and
  these children: Mrs. Robert (Susan) Kovack, Somerset; Mrs. Frank
  (Julianne) Hetherington, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
  She was also survived by a half-sister, Mrs. Blanch Moore, Lake
  Tahoe, Calif., and a step-sister, Mrs. Elsie Day, Dayton, Ohio. She
  was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church; Trinity Chapter, O.E.S.;
  American Legion Auxiliary.  She was a graduate of Mercy Hospital
  School of Nursing, Pittsburgh.  Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m. Friday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where services
  will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. James Ling officiating.
  Interment, Husband Cemetery.
