Pile, 78, of Friedens RD 1 died March 20, 1981, at home. Born Nov. 24, 1902, in Stonycreek Township, a son of John and Catherine (Yoder) Pile. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, the former Ollie Carver; brother, Charles; sister, Margaret Keyser. Survived by his wife, the former Gladys Blough Gore; two daughters: Mrs. John (Betty) O'Leary of Somerset and Mrs. Eugene (Lois) Fitzgerald, Friedens RD 1; three grandchildren; step-son, Merle Gore, married to Jean Foltz, Pittsburgh; one step-granddaughter. Brother of: Homer and James, both of Friedens RD 2; Mrs. Besse Eash of Davidsville; Russell of Maugansville, Md. He founded the Pile Vault Co. of Friedens in 1924, from which he retired in 1968. Member of the Friedens Lutheran Church, Stoystown Lions Club, Somerset Chapter 13 A.A.R.P. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. until noon Sunday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Remains will be removed to Friedens Lutheran Church to lie in state from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. on Sunday, the Rev. James R. Ling assisted by the Rev. Charles W. Sigler. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. If friends desire, instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Friedens Lutheran Church, Allegheny Lutheran Home or Parkinson's Foundation.
