  Richard R. Pile, 76, of Friedens died May 6, 2001 at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born Nov. 24, 1924 in Friedens, son of the late James D.
  and Anna (Wright) Pile.  Survived by his wife of 53 years, the former
  Ruth Zimmerman and these sons: Bishop Gregory R. married to the
  former Barbara Gorman, Davidsville; Mark T. married to the former
  Jane Zorica, Wescosville; Bruce W. married to the former Beth Snyder,
  and John D. married to the former Elizabeth Walker, all of Friedens. 
  Grandchildren: Nathan, Aaron, Elizabeth, Luke, Matthew, Sarah,
  Andrew, Alexander, Jacob, and Emma Pile, and sisters: Mary Catherine
  married to Donald Trent, and Janet married to Todd Brant, both of
  Friedens.  A 1943 graduate of Somerset Township High School, where he
  played on the undefeated 1942 basketball team.  World War II Navy
  Veteran having served during Operation Tiger and Invasion of
  Normandy.  Retired bulk milk hauler and truck driver for Stoystown
  Tank and Steel.  Member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Tall Pines
  Hunting Camp, Stoystown American Legion Post 257, Mosquito Creek
  Sportsman's Association, Frenchville VFW, Friedens Fire Co. and
  Friedens "Chamber of Commerce."  Former member of Somerset School
  Board, and Stoystown Lions Club where he was a past president.
  Former Scout Master of Friedens Troop 152, former B.S.A. District
  Commissioner, and received the Silver Beaver Award.  Family will
  receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner
  Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11
  a.m. Thursday at Friedens Lutheran Church, Rev. Edward V. DeVore and
  Associate in Ministry Pernelle DeVore officiating.  Interment,
  Somerset County Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be given to
  Friedens Lutheran. Church of Friedens VFD, Friedens, Pa. 15541.
