Pile, 94, of Somerset, formerly of Friedens and Hagerstown, Md., died March 8, 1993, at Siemon Lakeview Manor Estate. Born Dec. 9, 1898, in Stonycreek Township. Daughter of Ira and Sidney (Walker) Carver. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Russell; sons, Dalton and Delphin; granddaughters, Susan Von Dolteren and Susanne Zatko; brother, Elton; sisters, Ivy Glessner, Vesta Kimmel, Alma Friedline and 0llie Pile. Survived by these children: Dorothy E. Bittner and Mrs. Edward (Kathryn) Carter, both of Somerset; Mrs. Robert (Thelma) Miller, Friedens; Mrs. Robert (Jean) Hittie, New Freedom; Cletus, married to the former Verna Zimmerman, Greencastle; William D., married to the former Norma Barnhart, Littleton, Colo.; Patricia A. Hillegas, Karl L., married to the former Patricia Coleman, and daughter-in-law Dorothy Pile, all of Hagerstown, Md.; 26 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Bessie Eash and Helen Pile, and brother-in-law, Lester Kimmel. Former schoolteacher. Member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and Sunday School, Hagerstown. Former member of Friedens Lutheran Church. Member of Senior Citizens and Homemakers Club of Maugansville, Md. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing at Friedens Lutheran Church from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Revs. James R. Ling and A. Bernard Coates officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
