Born May 26, 1921, in Wellscreek, the daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle (James) Connor. Theda is survived by husband, Robert J. Pile, to whom she was married 62 years. She is also survived by children Linda Schrock, Friedens, Barbara Goehring, wife of Michael Goehring, Pensacola, Fla., and Rev. James Pile and wife Sharay, Sanra Clarita, Calif. There are 10 grandchildren: Jennifer Knepper and husband Mark, Listie; Eric Schrock and wife Holly, Newtown Square; Julie Wicklund and husband David, Minneapolis, Minn.; Erin Schrock, Friedens; Ryan Goehring and wife Jenny, Oley; Ann Ferguson and husband Tony, Pensacola, Fla.; and Shannon, Heather, Bobby and Bethany Pile, Santa Clarita. Calif. There are 10 great-grandchildren: Emily, Andrew, Rebecca and Bethany Knepper, Listie; Benjamin and Maggie Schrock, Newtown Square; Alyssa and Jakan Goehring, Oley; and Carissa and Connor Ferguson, Pensacola, Fla. Theda is the sister of Violet (Connor) Mostoller-Ames, Ft. Meyers, Fla., and George Connor, Palm Springs, Calif. She was a 1938 graduate of Somerset Township High School, employee of U.S. Naval Dept. during World War II, and retired restaurateur of Pine Grill Restaurant of Somerset. She was a member of Somerset Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, and former member of Friedens Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir for 50 years. Theda was also a member of Friedens Mothers' Club. Theda took her greatest joy in being a wife and mother. She was completely involved in her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's lives. She enjoyed being a homemaker, baking, sewing, and taking care of her family. She loved people and giving and serving others. Theda had an extensive card and letter ministry. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Somerset Missionary Alliance Church, Route 281 North. Rev. James Vandervort and Rev. James Pile officiating. A time to greet the family will immediately follow the service at the church. A private family viewing will be held at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Interment, Friedens Lutheran Cemetery.
