Born in Boynton, Mrs. Pine was a daughter of Richard and Mary Jane (Eckerd) Thomas. She spent her early life in Boynton and had resided in Salix the last 14 years. Until recently, she was a teacher in Adams Township schools, but in the last few years she taught in Dunlo school. Mrs. Pine was a faithful member of the Salix Evangelical Church and of the Volunteer Bible Class of Salix. Surviving are two daughters, Elanor and Mary Jane Pine, both at home. Her parents also survive, residing in Salix. There are three sisters and one brother: Mrs. William Wighaman, Central City; Mrs. Theodore Baldwin, Seanor; Mrs. Henry Baker, Elton; and Richard Thomas, Bedford. A sister, Mary Gertrude Thomas, preceded Mrs. Pine in death. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 Monday afternoon at the Pine home by the Rev. Martin L. Kaufman, pastor of the Salix Evangelical Church. Interment in Salisbury I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Charles L. Auer, Salix mortician. Meyersdale Republican, February 12, 1942
