Sr. 12/02/05 Daily American Thursday, December 1, 2005 John C. Pingley Sr., 77, Somerset, went to be with the Lord Nov. 30, 2005. He was surrounded by his family. Born June 24, 1928, in Terra Alta, W.Va., to the late John and Mabel (Messenger) Pingley. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Myra Jeanette. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Sisler) Pingley; sons, John C. Jr., Somerset; Robert L. and wife, Penny, Johnstown; Kerry L. and wife, Terri, Boswell; grandchildren, Sarah (and husband Matt) Biddle, Hagerstown, Md.; Jonathan, Somerset; Lisa (and husband Scott) Stratton, Latrobe; and Joe Joyner, Latrobe; great-grandchildren, Abigayle and Benjamyn Stratton. Also survived by siblings, Virginia McClelland, Hagerstown, Md.; William Pingley, Kingwood, W.Va.; Robert L. (and wife, Agatha), Clint Township, Mich.; and Alice (and husband, John) Smith, Frederick, Md. John worked at Updegraf from 1950 to 1977 and at Seven Springs from 1978 to 1999. He was a former member of the West Virginia National Guard and a trustee of the Grace Baptist Church, Somerset. He was an avid golfer and loved his dog, Sirius. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday with visitation two hours prior to the service. The Rev.
