  Mae V. Piper, 79, 7 West St. Jenners, died Dec. 21, 1989, at Memorial
  Hospital.  Born Sept. 6, 1910, in Jenner Township, daughter of Alf M.
  and Lizzie M. (Croyle) Peterson.  Preceded in death by parents;
  husband, Wilson, who died May 27, 1978; infant son, infant sister;
  sister, Edna Shaffer, and brothers: Oliver and Orlando.  Survived by
  daughters: Linda M., wife of Robert M. Thomas, and Lois K., wife of
  John E. Emerick, both of Boswell RD 1; grandchildren John, Lori,
  Shari and Paul Emerick, and Kristine Thomas.  Sister of Earl,
  Johnstown RD 4, and Ruth Hemminger, Johnstown, RD 3; also very close
  friend, Cletus Penrod Sr., Boswell RD 1, and numerous nieces and
  nephews.  Long-time member of Jennerstown United Methodist Church,
  where she taught Sunday School for many years, and formerly was
  active in the Ladies Sewing Circle.  Friends received 7-9 p.m. today
  and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny St.
  Boswell; no visitation Monday.  Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at
  Jennerstown United Methodist Church, where viewing will also be held
  from 10 am. until time of service, Pastors Donald E. Krestar and Paul
  H. Scruton.  Interment, Mt. Zion Cemetery.
