(Rocus) Pipta, 95, of Holbrook, N.Y., formerly of Jerome, died Oct. 17, 2003, at home of daughter. Born July 1, 1908 in Gallitzin, daughter of John and Mary (Pesta) Rocus. Preceded in death by parents, husband of 54 years Michael J. Sept. 19, 1980, daughter-in-law Rose Mary (Makar) Pipta, sisters Margaret, Magdaline, Ann, Elizabeth and Mary and brothers John, George, Andrew, Michael and Paul. Survived by these children: Charles R., Jerome, Margaret married to Joseph Cavaliere with whom she resided and Henry G. married to Elaine McCarthy, Houston, Texas. Ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of SS Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Jerome, and the auxiliaries to Jerome Post 802 American Legion and the Jerome Volunteer Fire Department. Last surviving member of her immediate family. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville, where auxiliary services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday and Panachida at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Christian burial with divine liturgy at 10 a.m. Tuesday at SS Peter and Paul's church. Rev. Fr. Daniel Loya celebrant. Interment church cemetery. Daily American, October 18, 2003 [P0612]
