  Rose Mary (Makar) Pipta, 77, of School Avenue, Jerome, died July 23,
  2002, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.  Born June 21, 1925, in
  Johnstown, daughter of Stephen and Mary (Soska) Makar.  Preceded in
  death by parents, brother John and sister Catherine Janakovic.
  Survived by husband Charles R., children: Judy, married to Jim
  Rininger, Jerome; Sharon married to Gregg Murawsky of Altoona; Gary
  of Asheville, N.C., Robert, married to the former Dora Kosisky,
  Elizabethtown, Ky., and Patty married to Michael Steeves of Jerome.
  Wonderful and loving Nana to Michael and Chad Rininger; Mandy and
  Matt Murawsky, Allyson and Isaac Pipta, Terra and Stephanie Straka,
  and Evan Steeves.  Also survived by mother-in-law Julia M. Pipta,
  Holbrook, N.Y., brothers-and-sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and
  nephews.  Member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church,
  Jerome, Jerome Post 802 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Jerome
  Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and Somerset County
  Oldtimers Basebal Association.  A 1944 graduate of Johnstown High
  School. Would have observed 52nd wedding anniversary Aug. 12, 2002.
  Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Friday a Hoffman Funeral Home Route 403 and Church Road Davidsville,
  where Panachid will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday.  Christian burial
  with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. Saturday SS. Peter & Paul Church, Rev.
  Father Daniel Loya celebrant.  Interment, Church cemetery.
