Formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002. Mrs. Planck was born May 12, 1920 in Somerset County. She was the wife of C. Murray Saylor Sr. and then William E. Planck, both deceased. She is survived by her son, C. Murray Saylor, Jr. of Atlanta; daughter-in-law, Jackie Harmon Saylor of Atlanta; and granddaughters, Elizabeth Sykes Saylor of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Jacquelyn Harmon Saylor of Atlanta. Ruth retired from Cleveland Trust Bank, was active with Masonic organizations, including Fairview Chapter 529 Order of the Eastern Star of which she was a past matron; Lakewood Shrine No. 26 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, of which she was a PWHP; and PEO Chapter F, Atlanta, of which she was a past president. She was an avid bridge player, loved music and enjoyed playing the organ. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and attended the Lutheran Church of the Messiah in Atlanta. She volunteered to help those in need in the community through her church and other civic organizations. Ruth moved to Atlanta in 1983 to be close to her son and his family. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 435 Peachtree St., Atlanta, Ga. 30308. The Rev. Dr. John Westerhoff will be officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the Hamilton Room of the church. Her cremated remains will be interred in the Rockwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Messiah, 465 Clairmont Ave., Decatur, Ga. 30030 or the Atlanta Women's Foundation, the Hurt Building, Suite 401, Atlanta, Gad 30303.
