  Jacob Platt, 88, Tayman Ave. Somerset, died March 4, 1979 in Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born Jan. 7, 1891 in Somerset County.  He was a son
  of Mr. and Mrs. William Platt.  Preceded in death by his wife, Elsie
  (Keefer) Platt in 1975.  Survived by these children: Pearl, wife of
  Henry Brick, Akron, Ohio; John Platt, Stow, Ohio; Goldie, wife of
  Wayne Boughman, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Nellie, wife of Richard
  Nickson, Stowe, Ohio and Ella Mae, wife of Gene Coughenour, Cuyahoga
  Fails, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren and a brother
  Sam, Manteca, Cal.; and two sisters: Katie Sevits and Linnie Rhodamer,
  both of Somerset.  Member of the Brotherton Church of the Brethren, he
  was a retired farmer and realtor.  Preceded in death by brother, Galen
  and sister, Sadie Walker.  Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Monday
  in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Hoame.  The body will be removed to
  the Brotherton Church of the Brethren at noon Wednesday where service
  will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Harold V. Seese.
  Interment, church cemetery.
