  Mrs. Kathryn I. Platt, 79, of Shanksville, died Sept. 6, 1981, at
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Jan. 30, 1902, in Shanksville,
  daughter of the late Samuel and Bessie (Baltzer) Fox.  Survived by
  husband, Charles E. Platt Sr., whom she married Oct. 20, 1923, and
  two sons: Robert C., married to former Phyllis Jones, Somerset; and
  C. Edward Jr., married to former Patricia Shaffer, Shanksville; eight
  grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.  Sister of John M. Fox,
  Shanksville.  Death ended a marriage union of 58 years.  Member of St.
  Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville; Order of Eastern Star, Somerset;
  Fourth Society of Farm Women; and Silver and Gold Senior Citizens,
  Shanksville.  Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, 2-4
  and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where
  services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Marlin A.
  Miller.  Interment, Walker Cemetery, Shanksville.  Eastern Star
  Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
