Platt, 90, East Mud Pike Road, Berlin, died Aug. 2, 2005, at Somerset Hospital. Born June 19, 1915, in Stonycreek Township, son of Galen and Minnie (Adams) Platt. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Marie Sarver Stull; brother, Ralph; and sister, Anna Mancione. Survived by children, Fae, married to Albert Kurtz, and Dale, both of Somerset; Carl, married to the former Virginia Baer, Berlin; Nancy, married to Frank Kimmel, Fairfax, Va.; Jean, married to Blaine Lowry, Manheim; Linda Weikle, Lignum, Va.; and Sandy, married to Bob Younkin, Rockwood; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Brother of Ruth Miller, Geiger; Emma Grace Kaap, Texas; Janet Gomola, East McKeesport; Glenn Platt, Somerset; and Clyde Platt, Berlin. Retired dairy farmer and PennDOT employee. Member of Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
