Platter was accompanied by a lady companion, who escaped injury. A dense fog which prevailed in this section at the time of the accident was held accountable for the wreck. Platter was thrown from the car and landed on the concrete road on his head. The unfortunate young man was a son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Platter. He is survived by his parents and these brothers: Glen R., Raymond R., and Allen R., all at home. Funeral services were conducted at the parental home on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. George L. Detweiler. Interment in the Fairview Cemetery at Garrett. W. C. Price was the funeral director in charge. Meyersdale Republican, April 24, 1930
