Platter, 74, of Springs, died Tuesday, January 22, 1985, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born in Grantsville, Md., he was a son of the late Charles Platter and Hannah Jane (Durst) Platter. He was a retired grinder and crusher for the Keystone Lime Company of Springs. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Hill. Surviving are his widow, the former Anna V. Fazenbaker; three sons, Robert J. Platter, Gaithersburg, Md.; Floyd Platter and Blaine Platter, both of Grantsville, Md.; one daughter, Mrs. Virginia (Tiny) Serls, Gaithersburg; three brothers, Irvin Platter, Grantsville, Md.; Elroy Platter, Frostburg, Md.; Orvis Platter, Fort Hill; one sister, Mrs. Lettie Durst, Meyersdale, and 10 grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville where services were held with the Rev. David Bomboy officiating. Interment, St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Hill.
