Born Dec. 3, 1923, in Grantsville, he was a son of the late Irvin and Mintie (Durst) Platter. He was a member of the Laughlin Church of the Brethren and was most recently employed as a custodian at Flushing Shirt Mfg. Co., Grantsville. Mr. Platter is survived by his wife, Wilma A (Sell) Platter; a son, Harold E. Platter, Waynesburg; two daughters: Debra Holliday, Grantsville; and Rose Platter, a stepson, Roy D. Kinsinger of Rapid City, S.D.; a stepdaughter, Sandra Kinsinger of Grantsville; four sisters Orpha Wisseman, Hilda Younkin and Melva Platter, all of Grantsville; and Marie Willison, Eckhart, Md.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends were received at Newman Funeral Homes, RA., Grantsville, on May 24. Services were conducted May 25 at the funeral home, with Rev. Ross Glotfelty officiating. Interment, Grantsville Cemetery.
