Born Nov. 4, 1915, at Meyersdale, he was a son of the late William C. and Annie (Foy) Platter Sr. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert, and 2 sisters, Margaret Merrill and Nell Troutman. Survived by his wife, Edna (Nolte) Platter; 2 sisters: Mary Lewis, Cresaptown, Md., and Anna Ruth Glessner, Cumberland, Md. Member of St. Paul Wilhelm United Church of Christ, where he had served as an elder. Army veteran of World War II. Retired as brakeman for the B&O Railroad after 30 years service. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., Salisbury. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Wilhelm United Church of Christ, with the Rev.
