  PLETCHER
  
  Betty M. (Engle) Pletcher, 71, of 121 Corliss St., Salisbury, passed
  away Oct. 19, 1997, at Meyersdale Medical Center.  Born Jan. 1, 1926,
  at Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late Leroy O. and Olive
  (Shumaker) Engle.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd G.
  Pletcher, and a brother, Clyde E. Engle.  Survived by a daughter,
  Beverly Hochard and husband, Clarence, Frostburg, Md., a daughter in
  heart, Patricia Ackerman and husband, Ron, Meyersdale; 5 brothers:
  Denver R., Charles E. and Francis L. Engle, all of Salisbury;
  Franklin D. Engle, Mount Pleasant, and Wendall (Hall) Engle, Olmstead
  Falls, Ohio; 2 sisters, Rohama Joyce Dietke, Edmonston, Alberta,
  Canada, and Evelyn Jean Engle, Meyersdale; 2 grandsons, Christopher
  Hochard, Frostburg, and Jason Ackerman, Meyersdale; a nephew whom she
  raised, Ronald Engle, Salisbury.  Was a homemaker and avid bingo
  player.  Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to
  9 p.m. Tuesday at the Newman Funeral Home, Salisbury, where services
  will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. David Fetter
  officiating.  Interment, Salisbury Cemetery.
