Pletcher, 85, of Scullton, passed on May 23, 2003 at home. Born Feb. 9, 1918 in Jefferson Twp., he is the son of the late Ross and Bertha (Ansell) Pletcher. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Donald Pletcher brothers: Earl, Lloyd, Hubert, Harold, Lester and Calvin and sister, Marie Pletcher. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth I. (Temple) Pletcher; children: Allen, married to Gloria (Mowrey) of Scullton, Judy married to John Johnson of Somerset, Dean, married to Kay (Durstine) of Normalville, Tim married to Carol (Henry) of Scullton, and Steven, married to Connie (Bruner) of Kingwood; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and sisters, Evelyn King of Kingwood and Dorothy Homer of Martinez, Ga. He was the retired owner/operator of Pletcher's Service Station in Scullton where he was a state-certified mechanic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He was a member of the Rockwood American Legion Post 279, the Rockwood V.F.W. Post 185 and the Scullton Rod and Gun Club. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Scullton. He was an avid gardener but his greatest pride was the family atmosphere that he and Ruth created. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wesley Chapel where there will be one hour of visitation prior to the service, Rev. John Hollis officiating. Interment at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery.
