John Daniel Pletcher Sr., 89, Boyertown, formerly of Somerset, and Morgantown, W.Va. died March 9, 2004, at Pottstown Memorial Hospital, Pottstown. Born Feb. 1, 1915, in Morgantown, W.Va. a son of Jeremiah Miller and Mamie Belle (Wolfe) Pletcher. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Dorothea Elizabeth Holt who died July 17, 2003; brother Charles D. Pletcher; sisters, Thelma Lanham, Margaret Dunn and Elizabeth Close. Survived by son, Mr. John D. Pletcher, married to the former Beverly Pritchard of Boyertown; grandchildren: Mrs. Lance (Yvonne) Diamond of Pearblossom, Calif., William D. Pletcher and wife Diane of Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. Robert (Debra) Lewis of Brookfield, Mo.; great-grandchildren: Yoni and Marshall Diamond, Caleb Pletcher and Justin and Daniel Lewis; foster children Kevin Azzarella of Quecreek and Ken Azzarella of Ninebeth, N.Y.; sister-in-law Betty Holt of Muncie, Ind., and brother-in-law Eldon W. Holt of Boswell. He lived in Morgantown W.Va. for many years. Graduated from University High School in Morgantown, W.Va. Retired self-employed licensed insurance agent since 1935. He was a Pilgrim with the Loyal Order of Moose in Somerset. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset where service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Sherman H. Berkey officiating. Interment St. John's Cemetery. There will be a Loyal Order of Moose Pilgrim Service held at the funeral home 7:30 p.m. Friday. 03/10/2004 Daily American
